2010: From my first camera...
I don't agree with the idea of photoshopping or editing photos. I am a strong believer in knowing how to take a good picture right from the camera rather than changing it through an editing program. An exception to this general rule is when a photo is being edited to create a graphic for advertisement. This being said, all the photos in this section are free of editing and have been taken by me unless otherwise noted. I've decided to organize my photos by year, rather than by topic, because I want to have a place to showcase the progession of my photography as the years pass. *Hover mouse over thumbnails to see a description and click on image to see it on a larger scale. My Photography Through The Years...
Through a website called "Blurb", I have published two photography books which I completely designed myself.
After my first year of university, I surprised one of the RA's for her birthday by visiting her in her hometown of Invermere.
When I bought my first camera, a small Canon point and shoot, I rode the bus down to the Bow River the first chance I got to try out my new camera. This set of photos showcases some of the pictures I took with the first camera I ever bought myself.
During one of my bike rides to the Calgary Zoo, I stopped to snap a picture of the skyline from Crescent Heights Hill. This set of photos showcases a transitioning period between my first little camera and my semi-professional Canon T2i camera.
I started looking to the sky for inspiration and found it in exploring cloud formations. This set of photos are from my last year of high school when I started to use my camera for a lot more than just Yearbook Club.
After the devestating 100-Year Flood that happened in June 2013, I went hiking with a friend and we stopped to observe the damage left by the flood. This set of photos showcases my first year of university and discovering Kamloops.
On my roadtrip home to Calgary for the summer, I took time to get pictures of wildlife anywhere we stopped. This set of photos showcases my re-discovery of Calgary.
As an avid hiker, I love exploring new hiking spots. This view of Paul Lake is one of my new favorites. This set of photos showcases my focus on photographing friendship and exploring new places.
